Improve your Online Presence Instantly

I genuinely want to help you to grow your business and my first suggestion would be for you to add a profile picture to your profile. I've talked a lot in my newsletter about why image matters and the old adage that people buy people is so true and seeing a photo of someone helps you to feel more connected to them.

Even though I know that a photo on the internet may not necessarily be the actual person I still psychologically prefer to see a picture of whoever it is I'm interacting with.

Adding a picture starts to build a rapport with your followers and this is the key to internet marketing. Internet marketing is all about building your networks and contacts and getting your name and profile out there where your target market can find you more easily.

There are loads of articles out there about what makes a good profile picture but my top tip is to SMILE and look at the camera as if it was a good friend or a client that you really like. Look smart, avoid distractions such as loud backgrounds, children, partners or sunglasses and just put your best smile forward.

If you're serious about making a good impression it is really worthwhile getting some professional shots done. I've had some done, I used Janet Myers in Southsea and I am really happy with the results.

Ask for a head shot for facebook, blogger twitter etc. A desk shot and maybe a location shot these can be then sent out with press releases at a moments notice.

Getting started - Getting noticed


Any small business needs to think about it's website as it's shop front. Whether you've a product or a service to sell, your website gives you the chance to reach a much wider audience than a traditional bricks and mortar shop front which will usually have just a local market in mind.

I really believe that the quality of your website is paramount to your success.

This doesn't mean you need to spend a fortune you just need to make sure that your website says all the right things, engages your customers and is relevant to your target market.

I'm writing this blog because in my daily work I learn loads of tips and tricks to help get companies noticed and it seems a shame not to share them with you. I work with small businesses and i hear time and time again how they feel ripped off by web designers and feel flumouxed by all the technical speak. It really need not be like that. I design websites for small businesses and charge anything from £100 to upwards of £3000 depanding on the type of website that is required.

This blog is designed to help small business owner like you to get a grip on your website and start taking control of your online image without spending a fortune or feeling confused by a load of unecessarry jargon.

I want to make this interesting and relevant to you, so ask away and anything I can't answer myself I'll endeavor to find an answer for.
